Dana Cup No.1 is a youth football tournament that takes place every summer in Frederikshavn in the very north of Denmark. In the year 2008, Dana Cup No.1 will be held for the 24th time since the start in 1984. During the years, Dana Cup No.1 has hosted nearly 6000 teams from all continents of the world!
The opening ceremony takes place on Monday evening of July 7th. All games start on Tuesday morning at 8 AM on July 8th. The finals are played on Friday July 11th and Saturday July 12th at the Stadium of Frederikshavn. What is Dana Cup#1? An international yet intimate atmosphere; the closeness of the accommodation and match venues; warmth and friendship between the participants and a streamlined organisation and personal service for everyone.

ACCOMMODATION
 Dana Cup No.1 includes school classroom accommodation from Monday July 7th to Saturday July 12th. For teams wanting another kind of accommodation we have hotels, sport centres, youth hostels etc available. But - remember to decide quickly, sometimes these possibilities are sold out in January!
We are happy to help parents and supporters with their stay in Frederikshavn as well as the teams. Frederikshavn is situated at the coast and it is a perfect place for a youth soccer tournament with kilometre after kilometre of wonderful sandy beaches – don’t worry, the water is warmer than you think it would be and perfect to swim in! ABOUT FREDERIKSHAVN Frederikshavn offers tremendous shopping and marvellous places to eat. There are a large number of supermarkets and specialised shops. There are also a great number of different stores offering clothing, shoes, gifts, toys, sporting goods, leather goods, jewellery and perfumeries. The pedestrian street, the "Gågaden" is only a few minutes walk from the ferry harbour. Frederikshavn was elected "City of the Year" in Denmark thanks to the beautiful and vivid Pedestrian Street where you find everything you need in shops, cafes and restaurants. If you rent a car and drive around in the surroundings of Frederikshavn you will find a lot of small shops along the way that sell beautiful ceramics and handicraft. The most famous specialty is the "Frederikshavner" which is a fine, large fried plaice. You can find this dish on most of the menus over Denmark, not just in Frederikshavn. Frederikshavn can offer you everything you want: a quick meal, a candlelight dinner, a typical Danish meal with beef or a gourmet French menu with vintage wines. Another Danish specialty is the "smörrebröd", a type of big and tasty sandwich. For this we can recommend the restaurant "Moby Dick" which is situated close to the pedestrian street. The nightlife includes the country’s longest bar counter, the largest selection of drinks and an enormous collection of beer. Try the Danish beer, you won't regret it! Many places have live music – pop, blues, rock, folk-rock or country-rock and there are also many discos. Dana Cup No 1 is one of the most established tournaments in Scandinavia .we are very happy to invite UK teams to participate because it is well run and all teams are made very welcome. Each summer Frederikshavn is visited by 300 girls- and boys teams from 30 different nations. This international atmosphere makes the tournament a great multicultural event in Denmark where Frederikshavn shows its' very best side.

Frederikshavn has more than 30 different places to go for a meal. You can choose between Danish, French, Italian, Chinese, American, Thai or Iranian cuisine and as Frederikshavn is a fishing town most of the restaurants also serve delicious sea specialties.
