Nørhalne Cup – is organized for the 25th time at the Ascension Holiday, in 2008 from May 1st to May 4th. Nørhalne Cup 2007 had 400 teams taking part from Brazil, Czech Republic, England, Estonia, Germany, Holland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and Denmark.
At Nørhalne Cup the most important thing is the football and the matches against teams from other countries. Each team play seven matches on beautiful grass pitches.
Nørhalne Cup is two tournaments.
For everyone: All clubs/teams for boys and girls can enter the classes from B01 to G24. In some classes teams are divided into Level A and Level B. Please make sure to enter the class you find most suitable for your team. Classes starting with B are for Boys, classes starting with G are for Girls.
For top clubs: NNørhalne Cup is also an elite tournament in six classes with some of Europe’s strongest youth teams among the participants. The elite tournament started in 2004 in two classes, won by Brøndby IF and FC Copenhagen. Now there are six elite classes with participants including America FC and Ferroviario SO (Brazil), Norwich City, Rushden & Diamonds, MNN Advance Soccer (England), Young Boys Bern (Switzerland), as well as Scandinavian top clubs such as Malmö FF, Helsingborg IF, and Brommapojkarna (Sweden), Vålerenga (Norway), Brøndby IF, FC Copenhagen, Aarhus GF, and Odense BK (Denmark) and Aalborg BK (Danish Super liga) who will take part in all elite classes.
Nørhalne Cup Age Groups: for normal club teams there are sections for boy’s teams at every age level from U8 thru to U17, for girls U10 thru U17, for elite teams U10 thru U15.
Nørhalne – is a small village of 1700 inhabitants, situated 15 km north of Aalborg in Northern Jutland. Idrætsforeningen Fremad Nørhalne has created a tournament with help from the clubs in Biersted, Birkelse, Brønderslev, Jetsmark, Saltum, Sulsted, Tylstrup, Vadum, Vestbjerg, Aabybro, and Aalborg BK, and more than 1000 volunteers help creating a great experience for the visiting clubs. Some clubs have taken part almost 20 times and have already announced their return in 2006.
Arrival and departure – Teams can arrive from Wednesday April 30th at 17.00 and stay until Sunday May 4th at 10.00.
Tournament – The matches start Thursday May 1st at 11.00 with preliminary matches until 20.00. On Friday the intermediate groups are played, and Saturday is the day of placing matches and finals.
Age dispensation – Each team in 11-a-side can include a maximum of three players born within six months of the birth date of team’s age group. Each team in 7-a-side can include a maximum of two players born within six months of the birth date of team’s age group.
Meals – Full board from breakfast on Thursday May 1st to breakfast on Sunday May 4th.
Accommodation – At schools in nearby towns and villages. All participants bring their own mattress and sleeping bag. At all schools snacks and drinks can be purchased.
Fields – The tournament is played on 30 pitches for 11-a-side and 30 pitches for 7-a-side. All matches are played on beautiful grass pitches.
Bus transport – You can use the tournament bus system between all schools and fields. There are busses several times per hour.
Faarup Sommerland – All participants with Participation Card B can visit Faarup Sommerland, 20 km from Nørhalne. This is one of Denmark’s most beautiful fun parks where the entry ticket is the only cost.
