This summer tournament is held in the capital of Estonia - Tallinn. In 2011 99 teams from Estonia, Latvia, Russia and Finland participated, whilst in 2012 about 150-170 teams are expected.
All participants can also see the best U19 teams in Europe play matches. From the 11th of July all Tallinn Cup 2012 players, coaches and parents can see the U19 finals from quarterfinal stage up to the final on the 15th of July. Tallinn Cup 2012 and Estonia Football Federation have a good cooperation and all players and coaches get free tickets to the U19 Euro Championship games.
Tallinn with it's beauty and a location on the east coast of the Baltic Sea is a major attraction for tourists from Finland, Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania and Russia. The main purpose of the tournament is to develop and popularise football in Estonia by giving local teams a chance to meet with foreign opponents and gain new and much-needed experience. In addition to teams from Estonia, participants from Finland, Sweden, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Denmark, Norway, Germany, England and other European countries are expected to enter the tournament. |
