Donna Cup

April 15-18th 2022

Donna Cup is a women’s soccer tournament for teams aged UNDER 17 with the specific mission of supporting women’s football and the development of international relations between young women.

Donna Cup is the “sister” of Gallini Cup, the largest youth football tournament in Italy, with a top team in every qualification group. During the Easter weekend thousands of young people meet in Pordenone to participate in Donna Cup and Gallini Cup. These events together are a unique melting pot of youth, an experience that will be in the heart of participants forever.

A top team in every qualification group
Every year Donna Cup has several international teams and at least one top team in every qualification group.

In past years teams from the women selections of Juventus, Inter FC, AIK, VV Alkmaar and Ferencvaros have entered, as well as USA Region 1 and other teams from Canada, Romania, Germany, Denmark, Hungary, Bulgaria, etc.

Accommodation and Meals

ACCOMMODATION                                                             You can choose:
– Hotel 3*** with continental breakfast
                                      – Hotel 4**** with American breakfast                                      In every hotel you can choose single, double or triple rooms.

The organisers use more than 50 Hotels for the Donna and Gallini Cups. The name of your hotel will be confirmed two weeks before arrival. It can’t be done earlier, because group stage matches are played near the Hotels and they are based on many rules (1 top team in each group, at least 2 foreign teams, etc).

Your group can have as many leaders (and parents) as you want. If you wish, parents can be located in a separate hotel, but the booking of the group must be managed as one, by the team’s leader (including the payments).

Breakfast is in the hotel. Lunch and dinner is served at Pordenone Exhibition Center, for all participants. This is an amazing additional occasion for all teams to enjoy the tournament feel. The location is very fun with game areas, stands, food trucks, etc.

Protein options, good for athletes, are always on the menu. In addition, pasta, bread, rice and vegetables are “all you can eat”, so players are never hungry at Donna Cup. The menu includes lasagne, tortellini, gnocchi, spaghetti and all the most popular Italian dishes. There is never a fixed menu. There are always several options to choose from.

On the back of each ticket meal, that every person must use to a meal, you specify what food to avoid. The menu includes several options every day, paying attention to all needs, tastes and religions.

Tournament Events!

OPENING CEREMONY                                                         Friday Afternoon – 16.00/17.30 pm.
The participants of Donna Cup and Gallini Cup will walk and sing together, crossing the medieval alleys of the old town while the citizens of Pordenone come out from their windows to cheer with them.
An explosion of colours, joy, friendship and youth that will be in the participant’s hearts forever.

At the end of the parade, the teams reach the main square of Pordenone, where a stage is waiting with music and entertainment.
On their arrival in the square everybody gets a set of confetti. The opening ceremony concludes with a countdown that gives the sign to launch the confetti.
Together with the participants of the Gallini Cup this creates the largest confetti show in sport!

DONNA CUP PARTY                                                            On Saturday from 8 – 11 pm Free entry for everyone.

A nice moment for players to make new friends outside the pitch and a wonderful occasion for coaches to share experiences and fun with each other. All leaders, coaches, translators and players from both Donna Cup and Gallini Cup come together to celebrate the end of the tournament, the night before the finals.

After so many matches, is very good to finally hit the dance floor and relax. The players are in a very safe and controlled environment, so the leaders can chill and have some fun as well. Alcohol is strictly served just to leaders and parents.

AWARDS CEREMONY

Every team that enters Donna Cup receives a trophy, with dedicated medals to the winners. Individual awards are also a very important showcase to youth talents.

All teams are welcome to participate in the awards ceremony that takes place right after the finals in the main stadium of Pordenone.
