The Juliana Malden Cup

May 24-27th 2019

The Juliana Malden Cup is played in Malden (near Nijmegen), Gelderland and will be hosted for the third time in 2019. In 2018 teams participated from Belgium, England France and, of course, Holland.

SV Juliana ’31 are the tournaments host. The club has 5 grass pitches and 2 artificial pitches on which the matches will be played over the weekend of May 25-26th 2019. Group matches will be played on Saturday with the play off and final games on Sunday.

Accommodation

Participating teams will stay at Landal De Vers Holiday Park which is located at Overloon on the border between North Brabant and Limburg and is surrounded by woodland. There is always something fun to do at this holiday park and the landscape offers endless amusement.

You will stay in 6 berth bungalow’s which feature a living room and an open kitchen. bathroom with shower, toilet and sink.  Three bedrooms, two with two single beds and one with a semi-high bed.  Terrace, free wireless internet, flat screen TV, a dishwasher, microwave and a DVD player.

Meals: You are enjoying a full lunch on the terrace while the kids are having fun bouncing on the air trampoline. Broer & Zus Grand Café welcomes you for all kind of meals, snacks and drinks.  It is also possible to order your groceries on line and they will be waiting for you in your accommodation when you get there!

The Area
Grote Markt, Nijmegen

In the surrounding area, you can go to ‘t Schaartven recreation lake and the Maasduinen National Park. The War Museum and ZooParc Overloon, all of which are located in Overloon.

At Landal De Vers, it all happens in the central building. This houses a bowling alley, the indoor swimming pool and the indoor play area. Indulge your passion outdoors on the multi-sport playing field or score points on the miniature golf course.

Malden, where the tournament is played, is the biggest town of the Dutch municipality of Heumen, Gelderland.  Malden is 5 miles from Nijmegen which is a large city well known for being the oldest city in the Netherlands at just over 2,000 years.

Much of Nijmegen is made up of fairly recent buildings due to the WW2 bombing, first by the Americans and then by the Germans flattening large areas of the city. Nijmegen is also reputed to be one of the warmest cities in the Netherlands.

In central Nijmegen you will find everything from shops to restaurants to casino’s, also a stroll in the historic surroundings of St. Stevenstoren with a climb of the ancient tower, is something not to be missed as at the top you have beautiful views of the city and surroundings

Getting There

You have a choice of ways to get there; either a coach will pick up your group at your home base and stay with you for the duration of your tour. Ferry travel from Dover-Calais is included if you choose to travel by coach. We can take you by another ferry route if you wish, ask us for a costing.

The nearest airport is Weeze which is 19 miles from your accommodation.

Dusseldorf airport is 54 miles away.
