Limone Cup

October 13-17th 2019

Limone Cup has existed for more than 20 years, and more than 50.000 young footballers, leaders and families have participated and made many happy moments together.

Last year teams entered from Denmark, Finland, Russia and, of course, Italy. Countries represented in the past have been England, Estonia, Germany and Norway.

The first edition was held in 1995 was held in the city Limone in the NE part of Lake Garda, and from here comes the name. After five years in Limone, the tournament was moved to the existing location in the south of Lake Garda, near the city of Sirmione.

Limone Cup is a well-organised tournament. It is possible to combine the football tournament with visits to top football in Serie A, Europa League and/or Champions League depending on the match schedules. The Theme Park Gardaland is also well worth a visit during your stay.

Tournament Format and Venues

The Limone Cup tournament is played on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The group stages will be played on Monday and Tuesday and the finals on Wednesday.

Depending on the number of participating teams, there will be 3-6 teams per group. The two best teams in the group will play finals on Wednesday. If your team doesn’t reach the finals, you have the Wednesday to free disposal.

You are guaranteed at least three games of 2 x 26 minutes. If there are more than four teams in the group, the length of the games will be 2 x 20 minutes. If there are more than four teams in the group, and/or if you reach the finals, you will play 4-6 games during the tournament.

If you want more games it is possible to book a friendly game against a local Italian club, played on the local clubs training ground. The friendly game is normally played in the evening and is a great experience for the players.

The venues at Limone Cup are carefully selected to ensure a top atmosphere during the tournament.

The games will mainly be played on artificial fields on pitches within 15 miles of Garda Village. This means limited transportation to the games, and more time to experience Italy and enjoy the trip.

Some of the group games and the finals on Wednesday will be played on the venue Centro Sportivo Montichiarello, which is owned by Voluntas Montichiari who is one of the clubs that FC Internationale’s is cooperating with. One of the other venues used previously, is the training ground of Hellas Verona.

The main accommodation at the tournament is The Garda Village, a holiday centre located at the Southern part of Lake Garda, near the beautiful city of Sirmione. It is possible to be accommodated in a hotel as well, contact us for more information.

The Garda Village holiday center
The Garda Village holiday is a holiday centre with a capacity of 1500 people. The accommodation will be in bungalows with bathroom and toilet, a small kitchen and a TV. Players will be accommodated 3-4 per bungalow, whilst the trainers/coaches will be 2-3 per bungalow.
