Lloret de Mar is situated in the southern part of the Costa Brava, 40 miles to the north east of Barcelona. This is one of the Mediterraneans most popular resorts and certainly the liveliest holiday spot on this stretch of the Spanish coastline. The former fisherman’s village covers 30 square miles, and has five main beaches along a 4 mile of coastline.

The city of Barcelona and its airport El Prat can also be reached by train, with connections going further beyond. The local airport is at Girona, which is just 35 motoring minutes away.

Located in a residential area of Lloret de Mar, near the centre of the village and the beach, is the largest tourist and hotel resort – Evenia Olympic Resort.

It features tropical swimming-pools, restaurants, bars, gardens and an incredible hotel entertainment team that make the Evenia Olympic Resort the ideal place to enjoy a dream vacation.

Our groups stay at the Olympic Park Hotel however it is possible to stay in either the Olympic Garden or Olympic Suites if you wish.  The hotel complex features:

What To Do In The Area

Beaches

Lloret de Mar

It’s inevitable that if you go to Lloret, you have to check out the beach. Spend the entire day soaking up sun and swimming in the crystal clear blue water, or grab a drink and tapas at one of the many beach front restaurants.

If you’re feeling adventurous, look no further than one of the water sports stands, that offer everything from water tubing and banana boating, to jet skiing and boats with built in slides for the kids. Just make sure you bring your sunscreen!

Waterworld!

For a thrilling day out why not visit the excellent Water World with water chutes and slides for every age – or spend time relaxing in the Family Lagoon! The free daily bus services will take you right to the entrance.

Amenities at Water World include – medical centre, restaurants, souvenir shop, snack/burger bar, drinks bar and picnic area. Sun beds and lockers for your clothing and valuables are available for hire.  As well as lots of areas where you can just lounge under the shade of the trees!

Marineland

Marineland is one of the areas most popular attractions, and is an excellent day out for all the family.

Situated in Palafolls just a short distance from Lloret de Mar, they  have their own free bus service picking up at Lloret bus station and also a couple of other stops en route.

Your day out starts the minute you walk through the gates when you have your photo taken with one of the parks parrots perched on your shoulder! The first of the days entertaining shows is the comical parrot show at 10.30 showing the birds in flight, doing maths and even driving a toy car! After approx 30 minutes free time before the sea lions put on their fabulous show. At 12.30 you can see the fabulous dolphins in action!

Once you have enjoyed the 3 main attractions then the rest of your day can be spent cooling off in the waterpark areas where there are pools of various depths suitable for tiny toddlers to adults. Grown up thrill seekers in the family can shoot down the Black Hole or the Boomerang if you dare….or just take it easy lazing about on a sunbed!

Shopping

Lloret de Mar

If you love shopping you will love walking through the streets of Lloret it’s a shoppers paradise. From some of the top designer names to the typical souvenir gift shops – its all here in Lloret de Mar!

The shops hold their sales twice every year and at the end of sale time (early March and end of August) they bring out all products onto the streets and create a market around the main shopping area. If your lucky enough to be in Lloret at this time then there are some fantastic buys to be found as the prices are reduced to rock bottom!

Throughout the year there are several fiestas and markets held in the town where local crafts are sold, this is always a good opportunity to buy something really unique for the home or a special present to take back home for friends or family….maybe even a special treat for yourself to remind you of your stay in Lloret !

The matches we will arrange for you during your stay in Lloret are likely to be played  in the Barcelona area, where you can combine a match with a visit to the Nou Camp Stadium.
